Eclipse Repeats As Champions At PDA!

The Eclipse and PDA connection goes back many years as they are two of the best clubs in the country so anytime the clubs get together, everyone is in store for a great experience.

When Eclipse Select MN was formed 2 years ago that bond became even deeper as Eclipse Select MN became one of the few clubs in the country accepted into the prestigious PDA College Showcase over Memorial Day Weekend.  A showcase that we have now won multiple times.

U17 Success- Back To Back Champions At PDA

In the most important age group at the most prestigious event event in the country, Eclipse Select MN has been the only non Cal South, East Coast or ECNL Club in the past two years to be invited to event.

The 2018 invite for our 01s proved to be a great decision by PDA as our 01s put on a show in the 2018 event. The team is led by an incredible back line and goalkeeping who proved too strong for the top East Coast NPL team the NJ Wildcats. A 2-0 victory put the girls in the driver's seat and the attackers took over in the final game to clinch the title. Needing to win by 3 goals to clinch the title the attackers put in 5 goals to clinch Eclipse Select MNs second straight U17 Title!

The 04s Make A Statement

Eclipse Select MNs 04s were the only non ECNL team invited to the 16 team event and they were placed in the best group at the event.  The team played in front of College Coaches including University of North Carolina, University of Miami (FL) and Harvard!

Eclipse Select MN's first ever game vs PDA happend on Day 1 of the event.  The first half was controlled by Eclipse but the second half saw PDA come back into the game and come away with the only goal in the game to take the 0-1 victory.  The final game of the event for the 04s was against McLean ECNL from Virginia.  This game started off with a bang as Eclipse scored right away off a great team movement and finish.  Despite Eclipse dominance McLean scored a nice goal off a counter attack to make the score 1-1 at half time.  Eclipse regained control of the game and finished it out in style through possession soccer in the attacking half to win 2-1.

Culture & Character Development

During the trip the Eclipse girls and families were able to experience some incredible off the field moments including trips to the 9/11 Museum, New York City, and the NWSL Game between the Sky Blue (Carli Lloyd's team) and the Seattle Reign featuring Megan Rapinoe.
