(June 15, 2019) -- Eclipse Select MN and Maplebrook SC announced today that the two clubs are combining to create the MN Eclipse Maplebrook Soccer Club. This vision was a collaboration with the intention of developing every player to their highest potential. The new club is committed to long-term player development in all ages and levels of play at the local, regional, state and national levels.
“We are inspired to see the evolution and result from pulling together two strong organizational cultures to provide a new unmatched framework for developing youth soccer at every level in the state of Minnesota,” said Eclipse Select MN president Andy Kaasa.
The new name of the combined club, MN Eclipse Maplebrook, will be identified with a new logo and website, with club colors Red, Black, and Onyx.
Both clubs came to the decision to combine because joining resources would provide the club the best player development environment, training facilities, experienced coaches, while providing Minnesota players the opportunity to compete at the highest level. Players will also have access to Speed, Agility and Quickness training, a College Planning Process and community volunteer opportunities, as part of the MN Eclipse experience.
“We are grateful to the players of both Eclipse Select MN and Maplebrook SC for their competitive edge, dedication, and consistent focus. These are some of the things that provided us with the insight into recognizing the potential of these two great organizations coming together as one,” said Maplebrook Director of Coaching Jean-Yves Viardin.
On an operational level the respective Eclipse Select MN and Maplebrook SC teams will remain in their current form until the end of their 2018-2019 soccer season. After all competition is complete, the teams will be integrated into the newly combined club starting with tryouts.
You may continue to signup for tryouts on your current clubs website. A tryout link will become available the week of June 17, 2019.
More information will be released soon, so stay tuned.
