Prior to founding Eclipse Select MN, Andy, was a Director for Minnesota Thunder Academy. While serving in the role he coached teams who won multiple USYSA State Championships, US Club Region Titles, USYS Semi-Finalist, USYS Region Championship, ECNL North American League Finalists, as well as various major club tournaments. Andy has coached multiple High School state players of the year, All-Americans, and players who have participated in US Soccer, US Club id2, and ODP National Team camps.
Andy has a double major from the University of St. Thomas in International Business and Spanish. His business background led him to create and operate Minnesota's first US Club League. Andy's coaching certificates include NSCAA Premier Diploma, NSCAA National Youth Diploma and USSF "D" License. In addition, he has served as a National Camp Staff coach for US Club Soccer id2.
Andy was the Assistant Coach for the University of St. Thomas Women from 2009-2011 and in 2009 UST was an NCAA tournament participant.

Tay grew up in France and played for E.S. Moulon at the regional elite level. Since then, Tay has become one of the best technical trainers in the United States for player development. Tay has used this experience to allow him to develop and impact the lives of many youth players. Players he has trained have gone on to reach Regional and National ODP, US Club id2, US National Teams, and NCAA Division I, II, and III.
Tay founded St. Paul United Soccer Club in 2005 and served as the club President and Director of Coaching until 2013. Tay spent two seasons with Minnesota Thunder Academy prior to joining Eclipse Select MN's first ever staff in 2016.
"At the end of each year I'm not counting how many trophies or tournaments I have won during the season, but how many individuals I have helped reach the next level. Those players are my trophies."
Pablo has an extensive playing background that includes multiple honors and titles from his career in Brazil, Europe and the United States. Professional clubs include: Guarani (Sao Paulo), and Botafogo (Rio de Janeiro) in Brazil, Fresno Pacific University, Fresno Fuego, Panthrakikos (Greece), Gais (Sweden), San Jose Earthquakes, Real Salt Lake (MLS Cup Champions), Carolina RailHawks (Regular Season Champion), San Antonio (Regular Season Champion), and Miami. In 2013, he was a member of the inaugural season for the Minnesota United.
His awards and records include; NSCAA/adidas NAIA Men’s All-American Award (2007), PDL the MVP/Golden boot (2007), MLS Cup Champion (2009), NASL MVP/ Golden Boot (2012), most goals in a season (NASL 2012) NASL Single season goal scoring record (2012), he became NASL All Time Leading Scorer in 2015.
Pablo’s coaching experience includes working with many players at either collegiate or professional levels within the Brazilian club system. In Minnesota, he has been a part of the Girls Soccer Centennial High School Coaching Staff since 2013. Those teams have been four time section finalists and had three state tournament appearances.
Additionally, he has worked college and summer camps at St. Paul Academy. He also participated in multiple soccer camps in surrounding communities of Minnesota as a Minnesota United player.
Kaylyn has a decorated career that includes playing in the Pan Am Games, the Olympics, and two Women’s World Cups. She has played professionally in Canada, Sweden, and the USA. She has an engaging personality and a fierce work ethic. Our players will be able to experience all sides of the game under her direction. She will both coach and attend training sessions for teams throughout the club so that all of the players are exposed to her talent. Additionally, she will be a key leader with camps and small clinics starting this Spring.
Kaylyn says, “I am extremely excited and honored to be working with Eclipse Select MN and helping develop and promote the players game to an even higher level. With my experience, I can guide and instill confidence in these young players to grow and develop into both incredible humans and athletes, both on and off the pitch.”
Meng went to the University of Colorado-Boulder where he completed his Bachelors degree in Sociology. Meng was also a part of the Men's club soccer team while attending Boulder.
He has experience coaching and training multiple teams and levels with boys and girls. Meng holds his USSF "E" License and Youth Module Certification.
"Relationships and trust is essential to successfully achieve a goal. Style of play should be built based on player strengths and abilities rather than the one way a coach sees the game. There is no right way or wrong way as long as the objective is met and trusting the players."
Justin Ellevold serves the club as the Speed, Agility, Quickness Director for Eclipse Select MN. For the past 15 years he has worked with thousands of athletes including hundreds of Division I athletes, NHL players, NFL players, US National Team figure skaters, a 2016 Olympic hopeful for the 400M hurdles and numerous others.
Justin has a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science along with minors in Coaching, Health, and Medical Sciences. In addition, he also has a Bachelors in Education and Masters in Special Education. He will receive his Principalship License from St. Thomas in 2017.
He is currently a special education teacher and the strength and conditioning coordinator at Park High School. For the 2015-2016 season he cerved as the SAQ Coach for the MTA Junior Girls program. Previously he held the position of co-owner and facility director of three Acceleration Illinois facilities in the Chicago area.
"My focus when working with youth athletes is to provide them a multitude of sports training exercises and programs that focus on speed, explosiveness, power, resistence, range of motion, body awareness, core stability, and injury prevention. My goal is to push these athletes out of their comfort levl with the understanding that in the long run the hard work they put in will help contribute to their successes on and off the playing field."
Eric comes to Eclipse Select MN with a wealth of experience and knowledge. His experience as a coach includes 10 seasons with Augsburg College, Minnesota ODP Staff Coach, coaching numerous Minnesota State Cup Champion teams and nationally competitive teams, and a stint as Assistant Coach at the University of St. Thomas Women's soccer. While serving as Assistant Coach at St. Thomas he helped them to a MIAC Championship and two NCAA touranment berths. Eric holds a USSF "C" License and NSCAA Level II Goalkeeper Diploma. In addition to this, Eric has coached players who have gone on to play at the NCAA DI, II, and III levels and professionally.
He played collegiately for Concordia-Moorhead. As a four-year starter he earned All-MIAC honors three years straight. Concordia won a MIAC title and advanced to the round of 16 at the NCAA tournament. As a high school player, he earned All-State and All-Conference as the captain of his team.
Eric is from Robbinsdale, MN and was a graduate of Armstrong High School. He holds multiple degrees including a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and History, Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education, Master of Science in Educational Psychology, Psychology Specialits degree, and Education Specialists degree in Educational Leadership. He is currently the Dean of Students at Roseville Area High School.
Kyle grew up in Lakeville, always playing for the home town team. He captained the first Lakeville Soccer Club boys team to go premier in 2003. He also captained the Lakeville North Panthers as they won the Lake Conference in 2007. In college, he went to Fort Dodge, IA where he continued his leadership role as a captain of Iowa Central as they finished in the 'Elite 8' of the NJCAA National tournament in 2009.
Kyle has been coaching for 5 years. He's spent 4 years coaching both boys and girls teams at Lakeville Nortth High School, assisting the girls team to the semi-finals of the state tournament in 2014 and 2015. He's coached at Lakeville Soccer Club for multiple years including a third place finish in the state tournament.
"Clearly define your 'why'. On the day one we will figure out what our goals are as a team and as individuals. From that point forward, everything we do will do those goals in mind."
Prior to coming to Minnesota in the late 90's, Maged spend his childhood playing for Al Ittihad Alexandria Club Academy in Alexandria, Egypt. While living in Minnesota, Maged graduated from the University of St. Thomas, majoring in Computer Science. Maged played for multiple clubs in Minnesota including Blackhawks, and Strikers. Maged also coached in clubs and high schools in Minnesota. While attending graduate school at George Mason University in Virginia. Maged coached for local clubs in Northern Virginia. Currently, Maged is finishing his USSF "D" License.
"I believe that the lessons learned on the soccer field can be carried over to real life. It always starts with a child and a soccer ball then opens the door to meaningful relationships with teammates, coaches, and friends who share the same passion."
Steve grew up in Winnipeg, Canada and played soccer through his senior year, before switching to rugby and beach volleyball. He has been coaching soccer for over 6 years, first at Valley United and now Eclipse Select MN, including a second place finish in the State Tournament. Steve currently holds his USSF "E" License.
"Building a team of players, instead of just a group of individuals, is critical to success, both on and off the field. Having a band of brothers that support you, celebrate your successes, and hold your accountable for your efforts is important in soccer, and in life."
Steph grew up in Eagan, MN playing club soccer with Woodbusy SC. At Woodbury she was a part of a team that won 7 back-to-back State Cup championships and won a regional championship and placing 3rd at the USYSA National Championships. She was part of the MN ODP team for 5 years playing with a team that advacned to the ODP National Championships. She was a captain of the 2009 3rd place MN State Soccer team at Eagan High School.
Steph played 4 years at North Dakota State University where she was a captain her senior year. She was a 2013 Summit League second team player and all tournament player. She was also a 4 year All-Conference Academic student-athlete. She received her Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences with minors in chemistry and botany in May of 2014.
After NDSU, Steph took a post graduate playing scholarship at Durham University in Durham City, England where she competed on the women's soccer team. At Durham, Steph was the captain of the British University and College Sports National Championship soccer team. She completed her Masters in Business Administration from Durham in January 2016.
Steph has her USSF "E" license and has spent the past few years coaching girls teams at Tonka United. She is a first year women's soccer assistant coach at Hamline University. When she isn't coaching, Steph works full time for Major League Soccer where she helps run an executive training course for MLS Account Executives.
"Growing up soccer has given me every opportunity in my entire life. If I can instill the values that soccer has instilled in me off the field to young players, then I have done my job as a coach."
Forrest Randall enters his fifth season as Assistant Coach at Macalester College for their Women's Soccer program. It will be his first year as the teams 1st Assistant. While at Macalester the team has a combined 32-16-6 record, qualified for the MIAC playoffs 2 out of 3 years, and has been ranked in the top 25 in the country for NCAA DIII. He was also the coach of a player who plays professionally in the top division in Sweden.
Forrest played soccer at Lakeville High School and Premier club soccer for the St. Paul Blackhawks before attending Minnesota-Duluth. He played club soccer at UMD before graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Health and Fitness. While at UMD, he also competed for the Bulldog Track & Field team where he as an All-Conference hurdler who set school records in multiple events.
Forrest coached the girls soccer team at Proctor for five seasons (2008-12) and led the team to its first winning season in seven years.
He has obtained his USSF National "C" license NSCAA Level III GK Diploma, and other technical certificates. In addition, he has received a USA Track & Field Level I coaching certificate, is a Certified Nutrition Coach, and Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine.
Before his move to Eclipse, he was the Competitive Director for Eagan Wave Soccer Club where he coached since 2012. There he brought multiple teams to State Championship games, league championships, tournament wins, and promotion to Premier Leagues. The players he coached recently won two MSHSL State Championships for Eagan High School and have earned the right to play for several NCAA instituations.
"I have a strong belief that personal characteristics drive performance characteristics and focusing on the personal traits first creates more sustainable and high level results. This needs to be done with an athlete-centered approach understanding that all of my players learn and develop in different ways. My goal is always to create a culture where players aren't afraid to face their fears, get out of their confort zone, and reach the goals that they've set for themselves."
Trey played at Shattuck-St. Marys for 3 years and went on to be a 4 year starting center back at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. His senior year he was the team captain. His degree is in Elementary Education, and while at Green Bay he was a member of SAAC (student athlete advisory committee).
Currently he is playing for Minneapolis City SC.
Arent just graduated from the University of Minnesota, studying Urban Studies/Planning with a focus on environmental urban design.
He is a dual national (U.S - Netherlands) and has played soccer for over 15 years. He played at a semi-professional level in Amsterdam from 2013-2014 for club DEM and has coached for the past seven years. He loves working with kids and being able to share his experiences with them to help them develop and grow as soccer players.
His energy, passion and and motivation make him a great addition to our Eclipse coaching staff. You will find him in a coaching role with our teams, rec and goalies.
Eclipse Select MN is pleased to announce the addition of Denny Smith. Denny has extensive soccer experience and has been known for years as a dedicated technical and ball mastery coach. He has served at the executive level on soccer boards throughout the metro. Currently, he is the Head Coach of the U17 Regional Elite team and assists on other teams. He believes that the game is the best teacher for the players. He is the proud father of three children. His coaching education includes NSCAA National, NSCAA Goalkeeper 1, USSF Y,F,D.
